Donor Dollars at WorkThis past Sunday 11 volunteers gathered in the Bonnyville Health Centre Boardroom to assemble 100 Komfort Kits divided into two age groups, Youth (aged 10-14 years) and Teen/Adult (aged 15 plus).
These kits are meant to provide solace and comfort to patients experiencing mental health crises by providing them with items such as a blanket, Tyler Chislett Memorial pen, gratitude journal, activity and/or coloring books, weighted stuffed animals and anxiety reducing fidget sensory objects to support positive behavior and offer distraction. In addition, various resources will be available in the bag for each patient to assist with their mental health journey.
This year, $16,000 was geared toward the project, with enough funding for kits in 2022. Thank you Imperial Oil, Lakeland Family Eyecare and the BCHS Grade 9 YPI Project winners for your generous contributions to these kits.
